You can apply if

  • Students from anywhere in the world

Check if you can apply

Answer from your own documents. The questions are the scholarship's published rules; your answers stay in this browser.

Will you have a bachelor's degree before the master's starts?
Have you found a programme in the catalogue whose entry rules you meet?

Answer the questions to see if you meet the published conditions.

How many get it: No single number: each programme awards its own scholarships, and no more than 10% of a programme's scholarships can go to candidates of one nationality. Source: European Commission.

JanWatchdog does not give a percentage chance: the scholarship does not publish one. Meeting every rule makes you eligible to apply; selection then depends on the steps below.

What Erasmus Mundus (Europe) pays

Full scholarship: participation costs and EUR 1,400 a month. Participation costs (tuition) plus EUR 1,400 a month for the whole programme (12, 18 or 24 months), covering travel, visa, installation and living costs.

Prepare notes and a starting draft for your referee

Fill in what you can. The helper puts your examples under each point the scholarship asks about and writes notes and a plain starting draft. Your referee must write the letter in their own words, check every fact and sign it: scholarships check references, and a letter your referee does not stand behind can cost you the scholarship.

Visa: Student visa of the country where your programme starts

  1. Each programme moves between universities in different countries; the scholarship contributes to your visa costs.
  2. Ask the programme which country's long-stay student visa you need first and which letters it will give you for the embassy.

Fees and rules change: check the official visa pages before you apply.
