Who can apply for Assistance for buying agricultural drones
- Individual farmers: 50% of the cost up to Rs 5 lakh for small and marginal, SC/ST, women and North-Eastern farmers, and 40% up to Rs 4 lakh for others.
- Agriculture graduates setting up custom hiring centres: 50% up to Rs 5 lakh. Custom hiring centres of cooperatives, FPOs and rural entrepreneurs: 40% up to Rs 4 lakh.
- Farmer producer organisations can get higher assistance, as set in the guidelines.
How to apply for Assistance for buying agricultural drones, step by step
- Register on the farm machinery portal (agrimachinery.nic.in) or your State's agriculture DBT portal.
- Choose an approved drone model with a DGCA type certificate, and arrange a pilot certified by a DGCA-authorised training organisation.
- Apply for the assistance and wait for the sanction before buying.
- Buy the drone. The assistance is paid to your bank account after verification.
