Who can apply for BIRAC Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG)
- Individual innovators (who set up a company if selected) and early-stage startups (company or LLP with majority Indian shareholding) with a proof-of-concept idea in biotechnology, medical devices, diagnostics or related life sciences.
- Grant up to Rs 50 lakh over about 18 months.
How to apply for BIRAC Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG), step by step
- Watch birac.nic.in for the BIG call (usually twice a year).
- Apply online with the proposal, budget and milestones.
- BIG partner incubators screen the proposals and shortlisted applicants present to an expert panel.
- Selected applicants sign the agreement. The grant is released by milestones, with mentoring from a BIG partner.
