Startup India Seed Fund Scheme: eligibility, documents and how to apply for it
Who can apply for Startup India Seed Fund Scheme
- A DPIIT-recognised startup incorporated not more than 2 years before applying.
- A business idea with market fit and a viable path to commercialisation, using technology in its core product, service or business model.
- Indian promoters hold at least 51% of the shares.
- Has not received more than Rs 10 lakh from other Central or State government schemes (prize money, subsidised workspace, founder allowance and lab access are not counted).
How to apply for Startup India Seed Fund Scheme, step by step
- Get DPIIT recognition first.
- Sign in to seedfund.startupindia.gov.in and choose up to three incubators in order of preference.
- Submit the application with your pitch deck and plan for using the funds.
- The incubator's committee evaluates it and may call you to present.
- If selected, sign the agreement. Money comes in tranches tied to milestones: grants up to Rs 20 lakh for proof of concept or prototype, and up to Rs 50 lakh as convertible debentures or debt for market entry.
