LIFE Mission: eligibility, documents and how to apply for it
Who can apply for LIFE Mission
- Landless and homeless families, families with land but no house, and families whose house is unfit to live in, in Kerala.
- Annual family income up to Rs 3 lakh.
- A ration card issued in Kerala. Government employees and families already helped by another housing scheme are not eligible.
Documents required for LIFE Mission
- Ration card
- Aadhaar
- Income certificate
- Certificate from the village office that the family has no land or house
How to apply for LIFE Mission, step by step
- Watch for the call for applications from your Grama Panchayat, Municipality or Corporation (also posted on lifemission.kerala.gov.in).
- Apply online or at the local body office with the documents listed above.
- The local body verifies applications and publishes a draft list. Appeals go to the local body first and then to the District Collector.
- Selected families sign an agreement and get the money in instalments as construction progresses, or are allotted a flat in a LIFE housing complex.
