Who can apply for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin
- Rural households without a house, or living in a kutcha or dilapidated house, found in the Awaas+ survey or the SECC 2011 lists.
- Households are excluded if they own a motorised three- or four-wheeler or mechanised farm equipment, hold a Kisan Credit Card above the set limit, have a government employee, pay income or professional tax, or own large land.
- Since 2024, owning a two-wheeler, a fishing boat, a landline or a fridge no longer excludes a household, and the monthly income ceiling is Rs 15,000.
How to apply for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin, step by step
- Ask the Gram Panchayat secretary whether your name is on the Awaas+ permanent wait list, or search on pmayg.dord.gov.in.
- If it is not, ask for a survey by the Panchayat surveyor, or use self-survey in the AwaasPlus 2024 app with Aadhaar face authentication while the survey is open.
- The Gram Sabha checks the list. Raise objections there.
- Once the house is sanctioned, the money is paid to your bank account in instalments as the house is built, with geo-tagged photos at each stage. You can also get 90 days of MGNREGA wages (95 in hilly areas) for working on your own house.
