Who can use Free maternity care under the National Health Mission (JSY and JSSK)
- Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram: every pregnant woman delivering in a public health facility gets free delivery (including caesarean), medicines, tests, diet, blood and transport, and free care for sick infants.
- Janani Suraksha Yojana: cash help for delivery in a government or accredited facility. It covers all women in low-performing States, and BPL, SC and ST women elsewhere.
How to use Free maternity care under the National Health Mission (JSY and JSSK), step by step
- Register the pregnancy with the ASHA or ANM and get the Mother and Child Protection card.
- Go for the antenatal check-ups at the health centre.
- Deliver at a government or accredited facility. Call 102 or 108 for free transport.
- The Janani Suraksha Yojana cash is paid to your bank account after the delivery.
